Southwest Airlines is on The Countdown to Travel Cuba Too!

CUBA, this new frontier in travel for Americans continues to evolve! CUBA, the largest island in the Caribbean, offers not only tropical scenery, but a rich culture and fascinating history. Cuba’s capital city, the infamous Havana, with its colorful, classic 1950s style cars and art nouveau Spanish colonial architecture gives Havana a distinct look and feel as if you have stepped back in time.

There’s a true blending of cultures represented on this island of CUBA with roots from the Taíno indigenous people, and a significant influence from Spanish and African cultures. Today, Cuba exhibits its varied heritage with a vibrant community of artists, musicians, dancers, writers, and chefs—all contributing to the creative landscape of Cuba. You are now able to take advantage of several exciting new opportunities to travel to Cuba on People-to-People educational tours. Expect to experience Cuba through personal interactions with locals which is a truly unique travel experience.

The news comes just a few months after JetBlue became the first U.S. commercial airline to fly a scheduled flight to Cuba in more than half a century. American Airlines followed soon after. But what’s most exciting about Southwest’s announcement is that flights are starting for as low as $59 each way. The airline said that in honor of its new service, the special low fare is available for travel between Nov. 13 and April 24, 2017. Customers need to book their flights before Nov. 20, and 14-days advance purchase is required.
